considering taking out plugs. help?

i'm currently 20, and at 13, i went to a piercing shop and had skin taken out of my ears to an 8g.
it took my a good amount of time to finally get to 00g at the age of 17, and from 17 to 20 i slowly worked my way up to 5/8ths.

my ears have been at 5/8ths for about three months, and i have used stone, acrylic, silicone, and glass jewelry.
last week, i had my stone plugs in my ears, and i noticed they were a little bit sore. i switched to some acrylic, figuring the weight of the stone was what was bothering my ears, and then switching to glass. yesterday, my ear became very sore and irritated, and there was a small hard bump, kind of like a zit almost, right along where my ear connects with my face.

i've never had a bump like this, and i'm unsure if it could be scar tissue, because my ears have been stretched to this size for three months, and remained at 9/16ths for almost 5 months.

any suggestions to help this? ideas what it may be?
i really dont want to take my plugs out.

it probably is just a pimple . give it a few days and keep it clean ... see what happens , if you do oil massages alot it could very well just be a clogged pore . hopefully its not a big deal . if there is alot of pressure making your lobe sore try wearing some smaller jewelry or sleeping naked for a few days

It does sound like a pimple, but it's a deep one. Those can get very painful and radiate pain. I would downsize a gauge to relieve some pressure and do at least two very warm (as warm as you can stand without scalding) SSS a day to make it form a head. It should feel a little better after that, but keep doing the soaks until it opens and drains out. Are you doing oil massages? If so, what type of oil? Sometimes some oils will block pours if it's not rubbed in all the way, or if we begin to be sensitive to it. For example, I use Jojoba oil, but it's giving me pimples on my ears and even face. Once I get some money, I may try emu oil. I don't think you'd have to take your plugs out, but downsizing one size may help until it's drained out. Could take 1-3 weeks I'd say.
