short tapers?

I have short 0g tapers, and their harder to stretch with. Would it be better if i got longer ones? I've been at 2g for quite some time now. And it hurts to get the 0g in. Its either cause of the taper being too short or my ears aren't ready yet. What do you think?

Re: short tapers?

If your ears were ready to stretch they wouldn't hurt. Short tapers don't matter at the end of the day, they're stretching the hole to the same size. Just be patient and wait to stretch. :)

Re: short tapers?

How much is "some time"?
I don't think the taper's length would make much of a difference, considering that the actual size would be the same. If it hurts, you're more than likely not ready yet. 2g to 0g is quite a big jump, you might want to consider getting 1g tapers or taping up to that size. Good luck! :D
Have:
00g 1st lobe hole (goal! 10mm)
12g 2nd lobe hole

16g tragus piercing, L-Ear
16g lip, R-side

Want:
L-Side lip piercing
2x helix, R-Ear
Conch or rook, R-Ear

No tattoos for now :(

Re: short tapers?

Long tapers won't make THAT much of a difference; if you had a really hard time with the short tapers you're probably not ready to stretch. However, 2G-0G is a huge jump and you should consider going to 1G in between. You can find jewelry at bodyartforms.com, glasswearstudios.com, crazy-factory.com, and bodyjewelleryshop.com. Tapers in that size are rare but you probably won't need them if you have some plugs with rounded ends.
I'm Lindsay.
I have 1/2" lobes and 11 piercings: left helix x2, both conches, both nostrils, septum, navel, and VCH.
My lobes are small but I know a lot about stretching and how to do it safely, so message me if you have any questions!

Re: short tapers?

I usually wait until the flare on my plugs starts to go through my ear which is about 3-4 months after each stretch. I posted this link in another thread, but here it is again for those lazy people like me.

$1 concave stainless steel tapers 7mm(1g) and 9mm (00g???)

p.s. How do I add the little sig thing at the bottom? any help is appreciated.
