Question about lobe thickening

Hi, I'm new to the board and in my intro post I mentioned I've been stretching my ears for around eight years now. About two and a half months (13 weeks, exactly) ago I finally decided to gauge up to a 2 ("the point of no return") and I would eventually like to go bigger. My ears are doing great, there's absolutely no problems, I would just like to thicken my lobes. I know if I gauge down one size and then go back up that can help thicken my lobes, I just am not sure how to do it. Mainly my question is how long should I go down to a 4g for? Do I let that heal the whole 4-8 weeks as if it were a fresh gauge before I go back to my 2g? Or is healing time cut down since I'm at a healed 2g? I hope I'm making sense...any advice would be great. Thanks!

Downsize for about a month you can cut it less if you feel the need to. Massage it daily with jojoba oil, and try to leave them naked for a while each day, it promotes blood flow to the area, and causes what growth you can get out of downsizing. If you really want to thicken them more I would even say go down to a 6g, or a 5g if your using half sizes. Personally I think your piercing might have been low, if your only at a 4 or a 2 and your having problems, unless its just for looks, then i like it! thick lobes are way better! Either way have fun!

Thanks! Yeah, my ears are fine, I just want nice thick lobes especially before I start to go to a 0 or 00. I'm not too sure when I'll go to 0 yet, maybe in the next few months or so.
I do take my gauges out everyday for a bit to let my lobes relax and I massage them. I just don't want to downsize for too long only for the fact that my favorite jewelry right now is in 2g, lol.

Thats good, dowsizing for thickening can be a lot shorter than lets say downsizing for a blowout or tear. Seems like you will be fine doing what your doing now, especially if you do downsize even for a week or two. Good luck
