I started with a 6g without any precious piercings. I went to a really nice shop that just deal with piercing and the piercer told me I need to wait 3 to 4 months to go up to the next size. My goal size is a 00g. On the Internet I am finding various answers, anywhere from 3 weeks to 2 months, and was wondering if anyone else had some suggestions on how long I really should wait? Thanks for your help.

You need to wait until your ears are ready. When you stretch your ears you create little holes that need to be refilled with collagen. This takes different time for different people. There should be no pain or blood when you stretch. When you put the taper through or tape on it should slide in with little or no pressure. Generally its a 6 week minimum for how long between stretches, but DONT FORCE IT. If you need longer than that take it.

It sounds like you were pierced at 6g and are dealing with a fresh stretch.

Generally it takes longer than that to be fully healed and strong enough to start stretching. Generally 6 months is recommended before you start stretching.

Once you stretch to 4g you need to wait another 3 months, before you can stretch again. This is on the conservative side, but I'd rather wait longer and have beautiful sexy lobes.

Agreed, wait six months. You might be ready a little earlier but I wouldn't try until at least five if I were you. It's really important that your piercings aren't only healed, but also strong enough to be stretched.
