two holes in the same piercing. should I continue?

I'm just now beginning to gauge my ears and when I had put in 14s, they were fine. I have previous knowledge about an extra hole in the back of my ear from repiercing. after a few days my ear became sensitive and I took it out and put it back in, but this time putting it through the other hole in the back. it began to hurt again so I have taken it out and currently only have one ear gauged. I don't know if I should continue trying to gauge my ear or what I should do.
