as of right now im REELY diggin this four gauge steel plug i have. its the type where the back "flair" screws on, and there is a flare of the same side in the front. it looks somewhat like a barbell. the one im wearing right now is black, but the supposed front of the plug is some sort of cheesy black and silver checkered pattern. personally i think it looks kind of lame, but to fix it i just wear it backwards!

it's either an internally- or externally- threaded plug. is the threaded part on the plug or on the back flare?

its on the plug itself, as in its on the part that is the actual gauge size. as in the part that screws on is the "flare"

Sounds like what I call flesh tunnels. Don't know why they're not just tunnels, but seems like people I know always refer to plugs and tunnels with screw on flares as flesh tunnels specifically. I don't think it would be wrong to just call them threaded flared plugs. I like spools as a term better, sounds more descriptive.
