O-ring going inside earlobe?

Hello. I'm new to the site but I've been reading it for a few weeks now. I'm currently at a 14g. Had them for about a month. Last night, some junk was hanging behind my left ear lobe. I'm guessing it was dead skin cells. Well I went to the bath room and cleaned my plugs.

Well just now, I felt my left earlobe again and noticed I couldnt feel the o-ring. It was inside the earlobe. My right plug is fine. No problem with that ear.

What can i do to prevent this? should I take my plug off for a while? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Sum peoples ears dont react well to the oring being so close to the lobe. I would just not wear o rings.

I hate o-rings personally. But if you're deadset on keeping the o-ring plugs go get yourself a thicker o-ring. not larger, thicker. Perhaps that will help?

Well, they came withe plugs I bought. Is it possible to wear the plugs without the o-rings? I'd think they'd fall out.

Yes, it is possible but yes again; they will fall out.

My local peircing/plug stand in the mall has all sizes of o-rings. If you have a place like that, go get thicker o-rings so they fit snugly and are bigger than your size!

Give some breathing room between the plug and your ear, your piercing does need to breathe a bit. Having the o-rings too tight against the piercing can cause it to embed like that.
I usually tell people to wear o-rings one size Smaller than the gauge they are wearing. That way the o-rings will fit tight on the Plug without having to be so tight against the skin.

Your ear can get really irritated and inflamed if you can't get it out soon enough  . There's tons of alternatives. A lot of good options have been mentioned in the thread already or you could find some jewelry that doesn't require plugs to stay snug. Good luck!

How do you get them out? Like what ways are there to get them out? I have the same problem and I'm at a size 10 and I found 2 size 16s in my left earlobe and there might be one more in there

I'm a compete noob at stretching, so don't know how good this advice is, but I had a similar problem. Wen going from 1.5mm to 2.4mm I stretched using my taper then slapped in my single flared tunnels (with large o rings). But whilst asleep my ear swelled, pulling the flare through the ear. So my new code of practice is to stretch and leave the taper in (with the o rings set loose) just 4a couple days, 2 let the ear settle b4 putting in the tunnels. Hope that helps although dunno if its accurate/the right thing 2 do?
