Little help ?

I'm at 6mm right now and i waited exactly 4 weeks they looked healthy and felt healthy and then i tried to gauge upto 8mm. All i felt was pain and they started bleeding, I have took them out obviously and put my 6mm ones back in. Can anyone tell me why this might have happened ? Thanks.

Re: Little help ?

If I were you I'd try going to 7mm between 6-8mm. It is a one of the rarer sizes, but you can buy it from both Body Jewellery Shop and Body Art Forms.

Not everyone goes to the sizes between 6-8, 8-10, 10-12, ect, but I definitely recommend it; it's far less likely you'll have any damage to your ear that way.

It's good you downsized though. I'd stay there for a couple of months and try again with a 7mm.

Hope that helps :)

Re: Little help ?

Not enough time at 6mm, most likely. Let them heal, then wait at least 4 months, and probably more like 6 months or more before stretching. Going to 7mm first would be a good idea, and so would teflon taping instead of using tapers. If you're buying jewelry in mm instead of gauge, there's no reason to skip 7mm.

I actually got stretching crescents and i didnt even know you could get a 7mm sized one, I bought a set of them and i assumed you just stretched slowly size by size.

Re: Little help ?

Most commonly people stretch by the standard sizes which are by 2's. Apparently there are in between sizes, which i wish i had known when i started. Just wait a lil longer for the stretch and never force a taper.
Left Lobe = 1 3/8in.
Right Lobe = 1, 3/8 in.

Yeah well i'm glad i found this out just now, I thought 4 weeks was an okay ammount of time before another stretch its what people recommend. You get so many mixed comments on ear stretching. I'm also finding it hard to get 7mm ear stretchers and also its not tapers i'm using its crescents.
