theyre not even stretched yet and im not too worried because im going into art school and then graphic design where i wont have to look presentable, but im a little worried about the meantime. im in grade twelve and i want a job, but from what ive been told its a million times harder with stretched ears. im not a huge fan of conventional jobs (waiter, grocery store, etc..) so it shouldnt be much of a problem, but im scared that a job opportunity will arise and ill be rejected because of my ears. i dont anticipate this happening as im only gonna apply at art supply/skate/music stores, but do you guys think itll be an issue?

it all depends on where you work. a bunch of new jobs now are trying to "connect" with a younger demographic and are hiring people with tattoos, stretched ears and visible piercings. also, if you have long hair you can wear it to cover your ears, or wear flesh colored plugs at smaller sizes and have it look relatively like a regular ear. you can even poke stud earrings through to make them look more realistic. when going for an interview, always ask what their policy for body mods is.

I'm actually a sophomore in the graphic design major and I have stretched ears and I don't see a problem because there are a ton of kids in my major with stretched ears. You're behind a desk so it shouldn't matter what you look like, clients looks at your PRODUCT and TALENT, not what you look like.

A lot of people going into art/music/fashion design/etc. don't think they'll have to worry about jobs and body mods but you never know what you'll have to do to make money. However, stretched ears are one of the easier mods to get away with at work, especially if you're female. Around 0G and below can look like normal earrings if you wear the right jewelry, and if you have bigger lobes they can be covered by hair to a certain extent.

exactly, if you have to get a job that has a more conservative policy, even if its just flipping burgers or pencil pushing at a desk job, being an arts/music major wont give you a pass

There is certain kind of plugs that look less " vulgar " then others.
You can just buy some organic stone ones or something that doesn't look see thru. I have some amethyst plugs and people don't even know its " unconventional " earrings, they think its a regular size thing.

They make plugs with CZ gems on them, and they really look like normal post earrings. They're great. You can find them on almost any website selling plugs. (:

I work as a receptionist at a real estate agency and they don't have a problem with it if I have CZ plugs in. They don't like the holes, but they're not hard to disguise if you're not planning on going dinnerplate-sized.
