I feel stupid asking this question

So I've been at a 2G for a LONG time now (like 5 months) but that ear has a lot of scar tissue from previous bad stretching (I waited long in between sizes but I guess my skin/tissue type doesn't stretch well). I've been using an expensive scar treatment oil but that doesn't really seem to help.

I just tried going to 0G and it would NOT go in. I knew that if I tried to push any harder that it would rip so I stopped. Is there such a thing as 1G? I feel like I'm in between 2G and 0G. I feel dumb having this metal 2g taper in my ear for all these months now (never intended to stay at this size so didn't buy jewelry).

Help please. What should I do?

id suggest you get a single flared tunnel with an O ring at size 2G and one for your next size, any creme, oil with vitamine E in, jojoba oil etc, really worked wonders on my scar tissue and a roll of PTFE tape

thats it for the stuff you need, next on how to do it
a week before your going to tape you start rubbing these cremes on your (healed) ear ( in my case i use nivea soft, wich contains jojoba oil and vitamine E) and well a week later you start, you massage your ear ( as you do daily) and you put one layer of tape on your ear, after the massage (don't forget to put some creme on that tape too, it's quite dry) and it should slide in easily, then 2 days later another layer and gradually you will achieve your next size, :D

i really hope this works out for you as it did for me, i had the same problem like you, it just didn't get in.

happy boddy modding pal!

Can you explain this tape method? Are you talking about sticky tape? I don't know anything about it. I thought you're supposed to use the correct proper steel tapers at the right size (2 --> 0)? People just roll tape around a tunnel to make it "thicker?" Won't the tape hold a lot of bacteria? How will I wash it? What kind of tape can I use? Scotch tape okay?

me confused.

ptfe tape (i also think its called plumbers tape) is non-adhesive, which means it sticks to itself when you wrap it around something. its much better than tapers actually, because you size up gradually instead of all at one time

^okay. What do you do when it comes to cleaning? Just pull the tape off and put on new one? When I go to the store, which section do I look in to find this tape?

Yeah it's recommended to change the tape every 5 days. Also, just go to an assistant in the hardware store and ask them where the Plumber's Tape is, they'll show you xD

Just use bondage tape. If ur to poor to get it or lazy, electrical tape can be used, but is not recomended becuz sum people have reactions to it. Otherwise its a good tape for taping.

I personally am using actual 1G jewelry but a lot of people just tape to that size. If you do, make sure you wait the normal amount of time between 1G and 0G; treat it like a separate size. Also, if you're always wearing the tape-covered plugs keep them oiled up so they don't dry out your ears, and it might be a good idea to change the tape every week or so. Don't use electrical tape; plumber's tape is cheaper and it doesn't have glue that will irritate your ears! Plus it's way thinner so you can stretch more gradually.

thanks for the advice everyone! I got the plumber's tape last night and also got a single flared 2G tunnel. Putting the tape and oil on was much easier than I thought. So glad to have the stupid pointy taper out!
