ok so my friend just gauged my ears for me from a 0 to a 00 useing Acrylic Tunnels, i didn't feel a thing it went in no problem unlike when i tried with a tapper. soooo i was just wondering is there a downside to gaugeing with Acrylic Tunnels?

Acrylic is porous, which means the possibility of infection is much higher then with steel, an the possibility of ur ears growing onto it is much higher. i have never had issues with it, but be careful, watch ur ears an listen to ur body.

I actually don't have a big problem with acrylic. I'm not going to say it's the best thing to use for a fresh stretch, but if you're stretching properly there shouldn't be any open wounds or anything so I really don't see the big deal. Some people may have reactions to it, but if you don't it's fine. I did my last stretch with acrylic, but I put in glass plugs a few days later.

Well, the best things are glass and titanium. NEVER stretch with silicone! It really can irritate a fresh stretch quite a bit, and if you use it to actually stretch with it can force your lobe to stretch before it's ready since it expands inside your ear.
