How do oil massages work?

I was just wondering how oil massages work for fresh piercings or stretched ears.. I was told to either use jojoba oil or vitamin e oil and just massage on to your earlobe.
I was wondering if you guys could answer some questions of mine
1. Do you take off your earrings when massaging and applying the oil?
2. Do you rinse off the oil or leave it to dry?
3. And lastly is it okay to get the oil inside the piercing hole?
thanks, i new to this kinda stuff

Jojoba & Vit. E are both good oils to use.
You can also use emu oil, but it's pricey.
1. Always take your plugs out when doing massages.
I like to do mine after I shower & before I go to bed at night.
2. Massage the oil into your lobes until it's all absorbed.
3. I always put the oil inside my lobes.
If I didn't, I wouldn't see the point of doing the oil massages.
Hope I helped ! (:

Oil massages are meant for healed stretches, not fresh piercings or sore lobes. They work by breaking down scar tissue, and they also can relax the lobes and make them more stretchy. To answer your questions:
1. Yep, take them out when you do oil massages or it'll pretty much have no effect. It won't irritate your ears if they're healed.
2. It doesn't really matter... I wouldn't leave a ton of oil on there but you don't have to get every bit off or anything. I usually just wipe it a little with a tissue but it's still a little slippery when I put the plugs back in.
3. Yep, that's the whole idea.

I'm kind of lazy with them but once a day is fine, and do them after a shower so your pores will open up and absorb the oil better.
As for the hypertrophic scarring, which I usually just refer to as "the bump," don't stretch until it's gone. Sea salt soaks will help, but you can also try chamomile compresses. To do this just use the water from your soak, re-heat it, and make a cup of chamomile tea. Then you can either hold the teabag to your piercing for about ten minutes, re-dipping it to keep it hot, or you can just soak your ear in the tea with the teabag still there... I prefer the second way.

How long have you had the piercings? You really shouldn't stretch 'til 5-6 months after you've gotten pierced anyway so you may have a while to get rid of the bump!

Well, the oil will help to keep the skin healthy, but won't automatically "thicken" them up. Just get some jojoba oil and massage each ear 20 minutes twice a day. It works.
