YOUR 'GAUGES' MAKE ME RAGE

id like to just announce to anyone new or who may not know that you are stretching your lobes with tapers and plugs. you are putting plugs into your fresh stretches. these plugs and other jewelry come in different sizes, distinguishable by units of measurement called gauge.

you are not gauging your ears. you are not putting gauges into your ears. the jewelry is not called gauges, and stretched ears are not gauged ears.

ironically enough, i was hung over at the gas station today and some kid walked up to me and said , Hey Dude SICK GAUGES! how big are they like 0s?" im like..what are you talking about. i dont "gauge" i stretch and yeah theyre 0s.

Haha seriously. Think about how ridiculous it would sound to be like "Dude, I totally just gauged my ears to a 0 gauge so I can wear these sweet new gauges!" I've had a few people ask me if my ears were "gauged," but I don't have the heart to correct people most of the time.

Same...the only people in my area with stretched ears are little scenester or core kids, with the exception of the few people that have had their ears stretched for a while. When the kids come in to where I work at they're always like "DUDE YOUR GAUGES ARE SICK! WHAT GAUGE ARE THEY?! I WANNA GAUGE MY EARS THAT BIG TOO, AND I SAW SOME REALLY SICK GAUGES AT HOT TOPIC! THEIR GAUGES ARE SO AWESOME!" I wanna reach across the counter and slap them...sure I may have bought plugs from HT before, but the ones they have there are anything but awesome, they're just good for stretching without waiting for things to come in the mail...freaking kids giving stretching a bad name.

You know, on this earth there are things far more important than teens using incorrect words. I find topics like these more annoying than people using the word "gauges" personnally... even more since it's not by making raging posts and putting bold everywhere that people will begin to say it correctly. In fact, it will change absolutely nothing.
