Back from Beyond

Well I'm finally back, I know I've been gone for a while, and I'm sure you all missed me 
Basically I've been in QLD through December to January 12th on holidays with my fiance, visiting friends and family in law. Had the best Xmas in a long time, I got to see fireworks on the Brisbane river and also, managed to escape QLD before the floods inundated over 75% of the state.

Only hours after my fiance and I got on our plane and left for South Australia, all access to the airport was cut off. Even the main motorway flooded.
What happened is, there had been so much rain over the last few months, that the dam that leads into Brisbane river was at bursting point. At one point on the news they said it was filling up enough to fill it 3 times over in one day. They had to open the flood gates which released months worth of rain, destroying towns, villages, farms, and even flooding the main city of Brisbane, destroying businesses.
The death toll is now at 18, fortunately the waters are finally receding, and I know that my fiance's family is safe where they are and none of our friends got hurt.
Also going to be busy busy soon with moving into our own place and such, and I'll hopefully be starting a motor mechanics traineeship sometime in the next few months.
So how was everyone elses holidays?
