Problem using acrylic in fresh stretch?

Well I stretched my ear from a 12 to a 10. I didn't realize that the plugs I had bought were acrylic until after I put them in, so what is the harm? I know that they're bad as far as bacteria and such. I don't really want to have to take them out though since my left lobe isn't as stretchy as the right and it's a pain to deal with. So what is going to happen if I leave them in? Are they going to get infected? Is it alright if I just make sure to clean it and soak it in SS or would it be better to just take them out?

This is OT and I didn't want to make a new post, but what the issue with tapers? I've heard some ppl say not to wear them as jewelry and other say you can. If they're only intended as a tool then why bother making them with designs?

Acrylic isn't terrible to stretch with, its not ideal but you should be fine. Just keep an eye on them and if they start to become too irritated, move back down to 12. Changing them out now will with the same 10g will just piss them off more. They sell tapers with cool designs on them so that when your in hot topic and spencers, you go, "those look crazy pimp awesome and I should buy them so I get hot dates" or something along those lines(jk). Don't buy crap jewelry at those types of places either. if you gonna buy tapers, spend the extra money and get surgical stainless steel. You really don't need to though. Most piercing shops will taper your holes when you buy your new jewelry from them. Just ask.
1 1/4" each lobe. 2g septum. 12g lebret.
6g tongue retired. 12g Hand webbing retired. 12g bridge retired.
12g madison retired. 10g ampallang regretfully retired.

Stretching goal: 1" again. No real need to stop if my ears still want to go.

I think they're okay, the area around the plug is normal flesh color. Even right after I stretched they weren't even a little pink. I just keep a super close eye on them. When do you think it'd be okay to take them out and switch to new ones?

Ahh I see well I've never even considered buying the cheap ass stuff from those places.
